The framings below illustrate how a class of incident is typically presented across perspectives. They are not the output of any particular newsroom on any particular day. For methodology, see bias methodology.

An explosive event was reported at a named facility. Satellite imagery confirms damage. The attacking side has claimed responsibility and described the target as military; the receiving side disputes the target characterisation and the casualty count. Independent verification of target type and casualty figures is pending.

A foreign strike inside the region has further deepened a multi-year crisis whose costs are absorbed primarily by neighbouring states. Markets, displacement flows, and humanitarian budgets are likely to be affected regardless of the strike's strategic merits. Whether this represents escalation or a managed action remains contested.

A strike has occurred during a period when de-escalation talks were said to be in progress. Civilian harm should be independently assessed before the casualty figures from either side are accepted as definitive. The diplomatic alternatives that existed prior to the strike — including third-party mediation channels — deserve scrutiny.

Pull the framings apart. Notice which side's casualty figure is the headline number. Notice whether "preemptive" and "retaliatory" appear in the same paragraph or only in some. The reader's job is not to pick a perspective but to recover the underlying event from the framings around it.
