5 Iranian ships pass as US lifts anti-Iran naval blockade
WASHINGTON, May 15. /TASS/. The United States has learned `thousands of lessonsâ from its operation in Iran, which resulted in tactical adjustments and allowed the US military to improve defenses, US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief Admiral Brad Cooper said in a statement. "Itâs fair to say that we have captured thousands of lessons, mostly tactical. I think there's no military in the world that makes adjustments as well as the United States military does," the senior US military commander said at a Senate hearing on Thursday. "We took a very hard look inward to see where can we improve our defenses," Cooper continued. "We made a significant number of adjustments to enhance what was already a very effective air defense umbrella," he added. The United States and Israel launched the war against Iran on February 28. On April 7, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week mutual ceasefire. According to Iran, 3,375 Iranians have been killed in US-Israeli strikes during the 40 days of the hostilities. On April 11, Tehran and Washington held talks in Islamabad, but the parties failed to reach an agreement on a long-term settlement to the conflict due to a number of disagreements. On April 21, the US leader announced his intention to extend the ceasefire with Iran. According to Iranâs state television, Tehran does not intend to recognize Washingtonâs unilateral ceasefire extension and will act in accordance with its own interests.
Iranian Official
The Iranian government condemns the US-Israeli aggression launched on February 28 as a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, which killed 3,375 Iranians over 40 days of hostilities. Despite the occupiers' claims of tactical adjustments to their defenses, Iran's resolute resistance exposed the limits of foreign intervention and compelled them to pursue a ceasefire they now seek to extend unilaterally. Tehran rejects Washington's imposed terms outright, acting solely in defense of its national interests following failed talks in Islamabad.
Israeli
The US-Iran conflict underscores Israel's acute vulnerability to Tehran's direct missile barrages and its vast proxy networkâHezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthisâwhich together form an existential ring of fire aimed at the Jewish state's annihilation. Israel's defensive necessity in striking Iranian assets alongside the US has driven essential tactical refinements to air defenses, enabling rapid adjustments that preserve the nation's survival against an enemy openly committed to its elimination. These lessons reinforce the imperative for unyielding vigilance and superior protective capabilities in the face of Iran's unrelenting aggression.
Neutral
US Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper stated at a Senate hearing that the US military derived thousands of tactical lessons from its operations involving Iran, resulting in adjustments to enhance existing air defenses. The US and Israel began military actions against Iran on February 28, after which President Trump announced a two-week ceasefire on April 7; Iran reported 3,375 deaths from the strikes, a figure that has not been independently verified. Talks in Islamabad on April 11 did not produce a long-term agreement, and Iran indicated it would not recognize a unilateral US extension of the ceasefire announced on April 21.
Western
US Central Command has rapidly incorporated thousands of tactical lessons from its precision operations against Iranian targets, implementing targeted adjustments to strengthen air defenses and enhance threat neutralization. Admiral Brad Cooper highlighted the US militaryâs unmatched adaptability in refining an already effective defensive umbrella following the February 28 joint strikes with Israel. These enhancements reflect a strategic emphasis on operational superiority and safeguarding regional stability amid the subsequent ceasefire period.

Pro-Peace
The US and Israeli strikes on Iran, launched February 28 and halted by a fragile April ceasefire, have killed at least 3,375 Iranians in just 40 days, inflicting immense civilian suffering and humanitarian devastation. US Central Commandâs focus on âthousands of tactical lessonsâ and air-defense tweaks stands in stark contrast to the human cost and the collapse of diplomacy, including failed talks in Islamabad and Iranâs dismissal of Washingtonâs unilateral ceasefire extension. Renewed, good-faith negotiations are urgently needed to end the cycle of violence and spare further lives.
Global South
The US and Israeli assault on Iran, launched amid longstanding neo-colonial rivalries over regional influence, has inflicted over 3,300 Iranian deaths while exposing the hollowness of Western claims to defensive legitimacy. CENTCOMâs boasts of âthousands of tactical lessonsâ and air-defense tweaks merely illustrate how external powers refine their capacity to violate sovereign states when multilateral mechanisms, including the Islamabad talks, prove unable or unwilling to restrain aggression. Tehranâs rejection of Washingtonâs unilateral ceasefire extension underscores Iranâs insistence on terms consistent with its own security rather than imposed diktats.
